Our friends at Africa Oyé and Punch Touring are bringing acclaimed reggae star Julian “Ju Ju” Marley to Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle this weekend.
Julian, of course, is the son of Bob Marley, a man for whom the word “legendary” doesn’t even begin to do justice. And yet despite the legend of his father threatening to hang over him, and indeed superstar brothers Damian and Ziggy – Julian has carved out his own sound, fusing smooth hip-hop with dancehall. He has even been nominated for Grammys!
He is taking to the stage at District on Saturday 20th August with a full 11-piece live band, and will be playing songs from his back catalogue, including Boom Draw, Systems, Lemme Go and Violence In The Streets. You never know, he may even drop a few surprises along the way.
It’s gonna be an incredible night – and it’s his first ever UK tour, so you know it will be special!
Support will be coming from Iba Mahr, whose music ranges from reggae and lovers rock to soulful roots.
We’ll be there skanking up at the front! Ya’ll should join us! Tickets are on sale now via Skiddle.
